Gowan Crop Protection Acquires Global Rights to Active Ingredient for TRIGARD® and LEPICRON® Insecticides
Harpenden, England, January 10, 2024 – Gowan Crop Protection Limited, an affiliate of Gowan Company, L.L.C., announced today that it has entered into agreements with Syngenta Crop Protection AG to acquire global rights to the active ingredient cyromazine. The acquisition includes product registrations and trademarks, including TRIGARD® and LEPICRON®, and related intellectual property and labels.

EU Nonrenewal Regulation Decision for Phosmet Published
HARPENDEN, England, January 25th, 2022 – Today, the European Commission published the Implementing Regulation withdrawing the approval of the active substance Phosmet. A majority of EU Member States had voted in favor of this step. The non-approval decision for the active substance Phosmet will enter into force on February 1st, 2022. Member States will have to withdraw the registrations of plant protection products containing Phosmet by May 1st, 2022. The grace period for selling and using plant protection products containing Phosmet will expire on November 1st, 2022.

Gowan Takes Isagro S.P.A Private And Begins Integration Into Gowan

In the coming months, Gowan will integrate the Isagro business. The purchase expands Gowan’s commercial opportunities, deepens scientific capability and introduces chemical synthesis. With this acquisition, Gowan adds a basic position in several active substances, including copper hydroxide/oxychloride,
tetraconazole, and kiralaxyl.

Gowan Purchases Entire Corporate Capital of Piemme, Which has Control Over Isagro
Yuma, Arizona, May 14, 2021 – Gowan Company is pleased to announce the close of the agreement to purchase all the capital of Piemme S.r.l. from Giorgio Basile and other shareholders, representing 99.9% of the corporate capital in Piemme. Piemme S.r.l. is the indirect controlling shareholder of Isagro S.p.A. The transaction completed today is the first step in Gowan Company’s plan to purchase all of the shares of Isagro S.p.A.

Phosmet Determined Acceptable with Additional Risk Mitgation Measures
WINNIPEG, Canada, January 7, 2021 – Gowan is very pleased to announce that on October 30, 2020, Health Canada announced its plan to approve continued registration of the active ingredient Phosmet and associated products for use on agricultural crops in Canada. Under the authority of Canada’s Pest Control Products Act, all registered pesticides must be re-evaluated by Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) to ensure that they continue to meet current health and environmental standards and continue to have value.

Tetris – a new fungicide from Gowan Crop Protection.
HARPENDEN, UK, January 27, 2021 – Gowan is pleased to announce that a new product called Tetris from the fungicide category is available for use by Polish Farmers. Tetris is a systemic micro-emulsion (ME) fungicide for preventive, interventional and therapeutic use against fungal diseases.
